iRacing teases first look at Cadwell Park and new BMW M4 GT4

iRacing has given us a sneaky peak at some of the new content scheduled to arrive in the sim’s Season 4 2024 update, with Cadwell Park and the BMW M4 GT4 Evo showcased.

Cadwell Park

The leafy Lincolnshire venue is often described as a ‘mini-Nürburgring’ thanks to its elevation changes, unforgiving run-off areas and challenging cambers.

A favourite of UK club racing, Cadwell Park’s biggest event of the year is the annual visit of the British Superbikes Championship grid, with two-wheeled motorsport ideally suited to the MSV-owned circuit’s tight and twisty confines (witness some of the epic jump action at the track’s ‘Mountain’ section).

However, smaller cars, like the Ray FF1600 and Renault Clio, should still provide entertaining racing whatever the weather, if iRacing’s video preview is anything to go by.

Cadwell is set to be joined in iRacing by fellow British tracks Thruxton and Croft at some point in the future.

BMW M4 GT4 Evo (G82)

BMW’s evolution version of its GT4 M4 car will make its second appearance in sim racing this September after RaceRoom gazumped iRacing back in May.

The revised M4 features an all-new front splitter (still with that larger-than-life kidney grille), revised traction control and new LED headlights and taillights.

On that subject, the car will be introduced this September without its Evo headlights initially, with a future update bringing the car up to 2024 standards.

‘We were a bit late to receive the Evo headlights, so what we ship with S4 won’t be 1:1 visually with the Evo in the real world’, stated iRacing’s Greg Hill.

The BMW is a brand-new car and not a free upgrade on the currently available previous-gen F82 M4. However, anyone who has purchased the existing M4 GT4 within the past 12 months will receive credits, with the number of credits determined by the recency of the purchase, according to iRacing.
