- Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Ultimate Speed is yet another model car racing game on PC and console
- It’s a spin-off from a popular Netflix kids’ TV show, with the series’ characters and vehicles
- Five game modes, a track builder and local split-screen multiplayer
- Releases on 24th October on most major consoles
There is a third Hot Wheels racing game developer in three years, as Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Ultimate Speed is set to release this October.
Based on a Netflix TV series for children, it will follow the same six characters – Coop, Spark, Mac, Brights, Axle, and Sidecar – as they race for glory across 12 ‘inspired’ tracks. All are that familiar orange plastic with walls along the edge.
The vehicles in use appear to also match the show, alongside some of Hot Wheels’ own designs seen in toy form, such as Super Twin Mill. Unlike Hot Wheels Unleashed, there doesn’t appear to be any real-world licences for the vehicles at this time.
Published GameMill Entertainment promises five game modes, of which a track builder and a racing camp are part of the mix alongside four–player local multiplayer. There is no online multiplayer.
The main thrust of the game seems to be earning flame badges, which in turn unlock more vehicles and customisation options.
