French Gran Turismo esports star Kylian Drumont has announced he is joining Romain Grosjean’s R8G Esports squad.

The 19-year-old joins the team off the back of stunning performances in both the Gran Turismo Nations Cup Showdown and the Gran Turismo Showdown Manufacturers Cup last August.

Drumont teamed up with Daniel Solis to claim the Manufacturers Cup for Subaru, then followed this up by winning the Nations Cup for France a day later, with the LAN events taking place in Salzburg. His displays were made all the more impressive given it was his World Series debut.

The young Frenchman then topped off a successful year by finishing runner-up in the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup 2022, only being beaten by Gran Turismo legend – and SUPER GT GT300 class driver – Igor Fraga.

Although a Gran Turismo 7 specialist, it remains to be seen which sims and championships Drumont will participate in for R8G, but with an already stacked CV, he will surely be found at the front of the field in 2023.

How do you think Drumont will fare in his new surroundings? Let us know in the comments below.
