In our preview of indie racer sequel Super Woden GP 2 back in August we revealed that its predecessor – Super Woden GP – would be making its way onto console before the end of the year.

The title, an isometric indie racer from solo developer ViJuDa and published for console by eastasiasoft, is an homage to games like Power Drive from the past and the more recent Circuit Superstars.

Hands-on with isometric retro racer Super Woden GP

Featuring circuit racing and rallying, Super Woden GP combines slippy handling with 16-bit era graphics to create a fun, arcadey experience. In our review, we described it as ‘a passion-filled love letter to what many consider is a golden era of gaming’.

The game has over 70 vehicles and local four-player split-screen multiplayer, where players can be joined by up to 11 AI cars, creating some truly chaotic racing.
