In just over a month, Forza Horizon 5, previously a Microsoft exclusive for PC and Xbox, will make its PlayStation 5 debut. Ahead of its release, an online FAQ confirms how Forza Horizon 5 will take advantage of the PlayStation 5 Pro’s extra horsepower.
Like the Xbox Series X version, Forza Horizon 5 will feature two rendering modes on PS5 and PS5 Pro: Performance (60fps) and Quality (30fps).
PS5 Pro owners will benefit from ray-traced car reflections in Quality mode during races and free roam, but the frame rate will still be capped at 30fps. Ray-traced car reflections are also supported in the PC version for those who meet the required system specifications.
Performance mode, on the other hand, will boast “higher fidelity graphics at 60fps” on PS5 Pro.
As well as PS5 Pro enhancements, the FAQ confirms that Forza Horizon 5 will also utilise the DualSense controller’s vibration and trigger effects to simulate a “higher fidelity feel of wheel slip, threshold braking, and surface changes.”
Unsurprisingly, the FAQ confirms that Sony’s PSVR 2 headset, which recently had a permanent price cut, will not be supported.
