Podium and Formula Podium Pedals priced at $699.99 / €699.95
Last year, Fanatec unveiled its new range-topping Podium Pedals at the SimRacing Expo. After it was originally expected to go on sale in Q1 this year, the peripheral manufacturer has confirmed in a blog post that its new premium pedals will ship in July, priced at €699.95 / $699.99.
Fanatec’s new pedals will be available in two configurations: Podium Pedals and Formula Podium.
The former comprises brake, throttle and clutch pedals, whereas the latter includes only brake and throttle pedals, but with carbon heel cups and built-in side supports. Both configurations will cost the same price, however.
One of the Podium Pedals’ main perks is its unique load cell brake. Rated at 200kg, it’s paired with what Fanatec calls an ‘Elastomer Compression Control System.’
While elastomers (the small flexible items inserted into the brake of different strengths), are nothing new for sim racing pedals, Fanatec’s patented design features four ‘cups’ that can be tightened or loosened without tools. Conveniently, it’s the equivalent of changing between firmer or softer elastomers without needing to swap parts.
