As we are in spring and approaching summer, that can only mean one thing – it’s time for some new official Formula 1 games.
Last year, Frontier launched F1 Manager 2022 an off-track admin-focused title, which we found to be engrossing for the first in-game season, but a little lightweight thereafter.
The social media account for the series has posted the logo for the next title, believed to be called F1 Manager 2023, abbreviated to F1 Manager 23 for the design.
The title’s existence should be no surprise, as from the outset, the franchise is to be a yearly release.
“The F1 Manager franchise is an annually releasing series,” explained Game Director at Frontier, Andrew Fletcher to Traxion.GG last year.
“For us, it’s definitely the start of a new franchise and one that I think everyone at Frontier is excited to see continue to develop over the coming years.”
The development of F1 Manager 2023 has also been discussed on Frontier’s earnings calls.
“I am particularly pleased with initial player engagement with F1 Manager 2022 since this is a major new sports franchise for Frontier, with annual titles scheduled for at least the next three years (2023, 2024 and 2025),” said David Braben, Chief Executive Officer of Frontier Developments in September 2022.
Judging by the logo’s licencing agreements along the bottom, much like F1 Manager 2022, 2023 is set to feature drivers from Formula 2 and Formula 3 alongside F1. We hope to hear more about the title soon.
