F1 25 delivers “strong” 27% year-on-year sales increase

Electronic Arts’ latest financial report, Q1 FY26, highlights an improvement in sales for the official Formula 1 video game.

The F1 25 video game has beaten its F1 24 predecessor for initial sales, according to its publisher Electronic Arts.

In its Q1 FY26 financial report, EA touted “strong year-over-year net bookings growth” – essentially increased sales revenue plus factoring deferred revenue changes (from in-game payments) derived from enhanced units sold.

F1 25 released on 30th May 2025 (Iconic Edition 27th May), with the Redwood City-based gaming giant’s Q1 FY26 running the calendar months April to June 2025. The F1 25 data, therefore, is based on just over a month of sales.

EA claims that the results were “supported by an enhanced gameplay experience, including real-world integration with ‘F1 The Movie’.”

“The title delivered a 27% year-on-year increase in net bookings,” said EA’s Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Wilson, on the associated earnings call.

As Traxion noted in our review, the game not only drives better than prior instalments, but the laser-scanned tracks (only five for now) were a significant step forward, and both Braking Point 3 and My Team 2.0 are worthy single-player career modes.

“Whether you enjoy the Drive to Survive style drama of Braking Point, managing operations in My Team or improving your ratings in Driver Career, F1 25 is the most feature-packed F1 game yet,” we said.

The Steam player numbers showcased a year-on-year increase too, but with F1 25’s main audience on PlayStation and Xbox, it’s not clear if overall sales had increased until these earnings results.

It’s also important to note that the game launched on two fewer platforms this year – abandoning the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The company reported a $201 million profit (GAAP net income) in the quarter.
