Following last week’s PS5 Pro patch, F1 24 has received another graphics update. The good news is that you don’t need to own a PS5 Pro because the latest update (update 1.14) improves the visuals on all platforms ahead of Season 4 launching this week.
Available to download on all platforms, F1 24’s 1.14 patch updates the visual quality of track-side elements, such as sponsor boards, fences, panels, concrete barriers, and lights, along with additional tweaks to shaders.
This results in “better quality reflections” and a “more realistic appearance” according to Codemasters, which are “especially noticeable” on metallic textures and wet surfaces.
Ahead of this weekend’s Las Vegas Grand Prix, the patch also updates the Las Vegas circuit, replacing fictional hotels and casinos with real-world brands such as Caesars Palace and the MGM Grand. Additionally, the Las Vegas Sphere is now fully animated in the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions.
There are also improvements to the ray-tracing on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, resulting in “cleaner images from the simulated light in real-time,” along with improved tyre spray effects, car textures, and F2 liveries and suits.
F1 24’s latest patch arrives after last week’s PS5 Pro patch, which adds on-track ray-tracing effects in 4K and 60fps in quality mode.
In performance mode, F1 24 runs at a higher 4K resolution and 120fps, while a new resolution mode increases the resolution and frame rate to 8K and 60fps, respectively, on supported displays.
