After Euro Truck Simulator 2’s v1.45 update in July, developer SCS Software has offered its first hint of what to expect in v1.46.

As well as working on the brand-new Texas DLC pack for sister title American Truck Simulator, the Czech studio has also revealed that its Iberia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) will be receiving a new upgrade with the game’s next update.

The Iberia DLC incorporates mainland Spain and Portugal, including capital cities Madrid and Lisbon respectively. The Iberian peninsula is steeped in a diverse ocean of history dating back to colonial times. The landscape is peppered with traditional fishing villages, vineyards, the Tabernas Desert and modern city culture.

However, one area near Madrid – inspired by the Municipality of Arganda del Rey – has remained off-limits to ETS2 players, and it’s here where SCS will be focusing its efforts on bringing a new commercial zone to the game.

The new area will feature the fictional Construcciones Elcano company, first seen in the Austria rework content update, and will join up with existing highways and access roads to be absorbed into ETS2’s highway network.

With some ETS2 players requesting more attention be paid to the Iberia DLC recently, this announcement by SCS seems well timed. What features would you like to see in ETS2’s upcoming v1.46 Iberia DLC update? Let us know in the comments below.
