The dates for the 2023 ESL R1 Fall Championship were unveiled on Tuesday (8th August) with another eight round season that will culminate with another in-person Major Championship, this time taking place at Jönköping in Sweden.

The venues have not yet been revealed, but likely will consist of the four circuits that are included in the Rennsport Closed Beta currently, those including Hockenheim, Spa, Nürburgring and Monza.

It is expected that the same 12 teams from the Spring season will return, but as was seen in the Gamers8 Tournament last month, some of the driver lineups may be in flux for the new season, and we await official announcements on who will take part in this new battle.

The inaugural championship battle saw Marcell Csincsik (R8G Esports) hoist the trophy in a heated contest against James Baldwin (Mercedes-AMG), Luke Bennett (Team Redline), Joshua Rogers (Porsche Coanda) and Dáire McCormack (Williams Esports), all of which had made it to Finalist Mode with a shot at victory.

In the Team Standings, Team Redline bested R8G Esports in the season-long points competition. It is expected that a similar, if not identical format will be in play for this new semester of racing.

The new Fall season kicks off on 31st August and will compete most Thursday and Friday afternoons until the second week of November, with off weeks including the 14th of September, the 12th of October and the 19th of October. After the eighth round, there will also be an off week on the 16th of November with the Major commencing on the weekend of the 25th in Sweden.
