Early Access for Disney Speedstorm starts 18th April, but it won't be free

Originally announced to release in 2022, Disney Speedstorm is finally going to be publicly available next month. It’s not the full release, however, as on 18th April, it will be coming to Early Access on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC via the Epic Games Store, the Microsoft Store and Steam.

The hero-based combat racing game inspired by Disney and Pixar characters went into a Closed Beta last June. From the feedback received at that time, the developers at Gameloft opted to put in a “bit more time to deliver a polished competitive racing game,” thus it did not release in 2022 as planned.

While the game will release in-full as free-to-play at a later, unannounced date, to get in on the Early Access, you’ll need to purchase one of the three “Founder’s Pack” tiers.

FOUNDERS PACKS

There are three tiers of Founder’s Packs to choose from, and each will grant Early Access to the title on 18th April.

The Standard is the cheapest while the Deluxe and Ultimate will add more perks for more price.

The Standard costs €/$29.99, Deluxe is €/$49.99 and Ultimate is €/$69.99.

The items that are obtained in the Founder’s Pack tiers will still be exclusive to Founder’s Pack owners when the game launches in full for free.

Pre-orders started last week on 16th March on all platforms except Steam, but Steam users can wishlist now and get exclusive Donald Duck cosmetics when purchased in the first week of launch.

It’s an interesting strategy, and truly, we don’t know how long the game will even stay in Early Access. So, this may be everyone’s only way to play for quite a while.
