EA SPORTS WRC will be unveiled on 5th September

Back in 2020, it was announced that the rights to make the official video game of the FIA World Rally Championship had been passed along from Kylotonn to Codemasters, which in turn was purchased by Electronic Arts in 2021. The deal was for five years and began in 2023. Now, we know when the game will finally be revealed.

The now-entitled EA SPORTS WRC will be launched on 5th September 2023 at 3.58 pm BST / 4.58 pm CEST when a YouTube premiere will kick off at this time.

Meanwhile, EA SPORTS Rally social media channels have been rebranded today, 1st September, with the ‘WRC’ moniker, and YouTube channel icon is now adorned by an orange background with the same Pantone as the real-world championship.

“It’s time. Join us on September 5 for the full reveal of #EASPORTSWRC,” reads the social media posts.

Attached is a small teaser video clip with a large Codemasters logo above a dry, gravel, rally stage. Each of the three main Rally1 hybrid rally machines that compete in the current top category then drives through the scene.

That is the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, Hyundai i20 N Rally1 and Ford Puma Rally1. No further information is available at this date, but we’ll be back next Tuesday with a full run-down.
