Teardown is getting a rally racing mode

The physics-based destruction simulator Teardown is getting a surprise rally mode for online multiplayer.

Showcased in an announcement trailer, the rally mode is currently in development and set to arrive in a free update, though a release window is unconfirmed.

Rather than traditional point-to-point rallying, the mode sees up to 12 players race on off-road courses from quarries to frozen terrain, with Teardown’s trademark fully destructible scenery adding to the chaos.

The update will add 18 new vehicles, including 12 rally cars and six monster trucks. Alongside quick races, the multiplayer mode will support tournaments and cups. Alternatively, you can exit vehicles and use weapons to destroy passing opponents and give your team the advantage.

First released in 2022, Teardown is a destructive puzzle sandbox game, with players taking advantage of the destructible environments to execute audacious heists before making a quick getaway.

This isn’t the only vehicle-based mode in Teardown, as the rally mode follows the Folkrace DLC expansion released in 2024. Whereas the rally mode is multiplayer-only, the DLC add-on focuses on a single-player campaign with players managing a racing business, as well as 30 vehicles.
