Today (28th June), Kunos Simulazioni has officially confirmed the final part of its three-track American Track Pack DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione, as the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) joins the already announced Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Watkins Glen.

The Circuit of the Americas has hosted Formula 1’s United States Grand Prix from 2012 to the present, only missing 2020 due to Covid. Located in Austin, Texas, the track enjoys an elevation change of around 41 metres – best exemplified by the steep braking zone into Turn 1.

COTA’s notable features include its 77m high observation tower, its twisty high-speed first sector and its overtaking friendly final sector. The track has hosted major championships including IndyCar, NASCAR and the Australian V8 Supercars series.

Although COTA does not feature in this year’s GT World Challenge America calendar, it has been a regular feature in American GT racing over the years – last used in the 2021 series on the full 3.426-mile Grand Prix Circuit layout.

Unfortunately, the American Track Pack DLC will only be available at launch for the PC version of ACC for the moment. Next-gen console users need to wait for the port of the extensive v1.8 update before new DLC – like the Challengers Pack – can be released. The v1.8 console update is expected in September.

Are you looking forward to ACC’s new tracks? Are there any other tracks you’d love to see in ACC – how about some of those we’ve come up with on our own wishlist? Let us know in the comments below.
