Open-world arcade racer CarX Street has just revealed its latest update, adding a much-requested police chase game mechanic to the game.
CarX Street’s new Pursuit Mode allows up to 16 players, split between eight cops (The Law) and eight street racers (The Ghost), to duke it out online. Ghosts must reach a designated area to earn points, while The Law must stop them (obvs).
However, both teams have access to extra help. Cops can deploy spike strips to puncture their opponents’ tyres, while street racers can launch car-disabling EMP bursts to help them escape the long arm of the law.
Three new cars join the fray, too, all of which are unlicensed facsimiles of real vehicles. In-game, these are imaginatively titled ‘S70’, ‘CC3’ and ‘JGR’, which isn’t quite as endearing as ‘Toyota Supra A70’, ‘Chevrolet Corvette C3’ or ‘Jaguar F-Type SVR’.

Four new livery styles have also been added, allowing players to customise their muscle cars with Pinstripe, Abstract, Tribal, or Flame designs.
A variety of game fixes are also available, with Sunset City now suitably snowy just in time for Christmas, replete with a frozen river area. Localisation improvements mean CarX Street now also has full language support for Chinese speakers.
Developer CarX Technologies has also refined the in-game rewards system, meaning it’s now easier to procure Street Packs, with balancing tweaks performed in the game’s Time Attack and Multiplayer modes.
