- BeamNG’s PS5 Pro version will use PSSR
- PC version to also undergo anti-aliasing and upscaling improvements
BeamNG.drive has released a new teaser showcasing a range of graphical improvements coming to the enjoyably zany sandbox driving sim, centred on better anti-aliasing and the use of upscalers.
Alongside improved visuals for PC players, the latest video preview from the Beam team showcases PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) compatibility ahead of the game’s PS5 release later this year (no, we don’t know the exact date yet, sadly). At the very least, this shows that BeamNG will be an official ‘PS5 Pro Enhanced’ title.
PSSR is AI-powered upscaling technology that renders a game at a lower resolution before upscaling the image to a higher resolution, improving graphics with less impact on performance. It’s only available for PS5 Pro consoles and was the first example of PC-style AI upscaling tech to make it to consoles, making it something of a coup for Sony.
