Crunching crashes. Long-travel suspension. Daft chase scenes. Crystal Maze-style challenges.

For those with a powerful enough PC, BeamNG.drive is a simulation sandbox without parallel.

Released as an early access title in 2015 via Steam, today (28th September 2024), it has also finally been released on another platform.

No, not consoles, but the Epic Games Store.

Epic has been known to charge smaller fees to developers than Valve’s dominant Steam platform – but quite why you would select an Epic version over Steam otherwise is not immediately obvious.

The sim is listed at $24.99/£19.79 on EGS, with a 5% return in ‘Epic Rewards’.

It recently hit version 0.33, with a truck-focused update that also made strides in the work-in-progress career mode.
