There was no doubt about it, Version 1.6 was a watershed moment for Automobilista 2, delivering a greatly improved driving experience combined with fresh DLC and competition Low Fuel Motorsport-powered multiplayer.

But, there’s still work to be done. So developer Reiza Studios has been doing exactly that.

Version 1.6.3.4 was released earlier today, 19th December 2024, and there are a litany of small, but notable changes.

The full changelog is below, taken from the simulation’s Steam page, so you can peruse every change and pick out the items that are the most important to you.

For us, one element that stands out is a new Balance of Performance for both GT3 and GT4 classes, thanks to a change in engine and aero properties. We’ve noticed that the Audi R8 has been particularly strong, so are intrigued to see if that remains the same now.

A significant number of cars in GT3, GT3, GT Open and Lamborghini Super Trofeo have received stiffer dry weather sidewalls, and even more have received a similar adjustment for wet sidewalls. In theory, this could see noticeable changes in handling performance.

A step change for Automobilista 2: Hands-on with the v1.6 update

A key frustration, at times, can be strange traction control and ABS settings between sessions – something the Traxion team has experienced when racing online through LFM. While there have been keyboard button assignment workarounds, this update adds “further guards to mitigate against the loss of authentic driving aids being between sessions.”

There are also changes to track cuts penalties and full course yellow redress systems, pitstop damage repairs, triple screen config pages and further AI rival performance updates.
