Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II confirmed for Challengers Pack DLC in Assetto Corsa Competizione

Kunos Simulazioni is at it again! After teasing us late on Friday 11th March with the BMW M2 CS Racing set to feature in their Challengers Pack DLC, they’re at it again with a sneak peak at the next car…and it’s just what THE DOCTOR ordered… it’s the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II!

The newly-homologated 2022 GT3 car comes to Assetto Corsa Competizione on 23rd March alongside the already confirmed BMW M2 CS Racing and the teased Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 992. However, the Twitter trailer reveals something else.

Yes, that’s number 46 there, and that can only mean one thing.

Valentino Rossi!

The veteran MotoGP star bowed out from the top level of motorcycle racing last year, but quickly announced he’d be taking part in the GT World Challenge Europe with Audi for 2022, alongside team-mates Nico Muller and Frederic Vervisch, driving a WRT-run Audi.

With that calibre of co-driver, Rossi is looking to challenge for top honours, signing up for all ten Sprint and Endurance Cup rounds.

Most notably, however, the video proves the car’s livery is already in-game, hinting that we may receive a whole grid of updated 2022 paint schemes and driver line-ups sooner rather than later,

We still anticipate concrete information on the status of the Ferrari 488 Challenge update at the 2022 Ferrari Esports series launch event on 22nd March, but meantime we wait with bated breath to see what other goodies Kunos throw at us right up until the Challengers Pack release date of 23rd March.
