  • Assetto Corsa Evo’s v0.5 build will feature a new track cut system
  • Free camera mode added
  • Seven cars and two tracks are also included

Assetto Corsa Evo’s v0.5 Early Access build will be released tomorrow (12th February 2026), and developer Kunos Simulazioni has duly unveiled its accompanying patch notes.

In terms of content, we already know there will be seven new cars, including the classic Audi Sport quattro and the Mk1 Volkswagen Golf GTI, and two tracks, Watkins Glen and Circuit Paul Ricard, but there will also be a host of other improvements, too.

The biggest change for v0.5 is the controversial removal of Career Mode, with the main menu option completely disabled. Players will now move directly to the game’s Open Mode on game start-up, with any cars purchased previously in Career kept in players’ garages.

New track cut system

The game will also implement a new track cut system based on gain evaluation. No gain equals no warning, but if a gain has been made, players have 500m to make up for it. Presumably, this will operate similarly to iRacing and Gran Turismo 7’s systems, which may not be popular with fans craving more realism. Failure to comply will result in a warning, time penalty or worse.

However, Kunos has also added some common sense to gain evaluations, so if players lose time by cutting the course, they’re less likely to be penalised.

Pit stop controls will now be added to the game’s MFD, with a free camera mode set to be enabled, which will be music to the ears of screenshotting fanatics. In terms of physics, Evo’s differential model has been tweaked alongside ESC functionality, giving players a little more freedom to explore the limits of grip before the system engages.

Several other tweaks, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements also feature in v0.5, with the full set of patch notes listed below.
