An update allowing early access players of Assetto Corsa EVO to play expected game modes is now slated for a release in the next seven days.
This follows a “stress test” beta, which sim racers could opt into for a limited time yesterday. It allowed a connection to developer Kunos Simulazioni’s servers.
In turn, this unlocked experience points, special events, car rentals, the dealership and the driving academy – all features that should have worked when the initial version was released 16th January.

At the time of publication, those who joined in can still access these features, but no new participants are being accepted.
“Firstly, thank you to everyone who tested the build last night, this provided us with some very important information including highlighting some crucial bugs that need addressing before we can publish the update to live,” said Assetto Corsa Brand Community Manager, Ben McConnell.
“Obviously this means that the update needs some dev time, which means that the targeted date for release on this update will be early next week.
“We want to thank you again for all the immense support you’ve shown us throughout and the trust you have instilled in us.”

This follows small fixes, that are acting more like plasters, for the current build, with the team stating on the 17th that a resolution was in development as an “active priority.”
Even once fixed, it is still unprecedented in racing games that the requirement of an internet connection to play single-player modes was not telegraphed before release.
