A new BeamNG.drive engine tool is set to streamline and enhance the way players can create and place buildings in the game environment.

Normally, players access the game’s World Editor to choose and modify objects, selecting individual buildings to place on a map, with further edits possible using BeamNG’s vast array of objects, textures and materials.

Although the interface is no doubt easy for veteran creators to navigate, it still presents an onerous challenge to newcomers.

However, the preview of the new building tool appears to suggest a much easier way to modify buildings on the fly, changing their height, depth and even the spacing and dimensions of their windows.

The tool also appears to allow major changes to the structure of custom buildings by enabling players to create overhangs, replete with stone columns and interchangeable styles, with the speed of the changes perhaps the biggest draw for BeamNG creators.

BeamNG teases new drift track

No indication has been given on a release date for the new building tool, or whether it incorporates other functions, but the developer has teased upcoming rally and drift content, plus a remaster of its popular Hirochi Sunburst car.
