At last, a date, and a trailer too.
American Truck Simulator’s next downloadable content now has a 24th September 2026 release date.
The South Dakota environment expansion was first announced and previewed in June 2025, and will soon see simulation truckers visit the region’s Crazy Horse Memorial and Mount Rushmore.
It should prove to be a diverse map, and a new trailer certainly indicates this, from the Black Hills to underground mining tunnels, Sioux Falls, red-bricked town roads and plenty of agricultural businesses.
There are two major routes across the area: Interstate 90 and Interstate 29.
Earlier this week, a V1.61 Open Beta launched that introduces proximity exploration and new cargo types. Presumably, this will exit beta to release around the same time as the latest expansion. Road cars are expected imminently too, with Road Trip packs.
No price has been confirmed for South Dakota, however, recent DLCs have been priced at £9.99, the most recent being Illinois in May.
