Expect Automobilista 2’s car roster to include more blue shortly, as it has secured the rights to include Alpine sports and racing cars.

Reiza Studios has announced that the first to make its way to the Madness Engine-utilising driving platform will be the A424.

Powered by a turbocharged V6 engine – related to the Mecachrome unit used in Formula 2 – combined with a standardised hybrid unit, the LMDh competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Sadly during the French classic, both entries retired thanks to mechanical dramas.

The model will form part of a new paid DLC pack, entitled Endurance Pack Pt2 and is thought to be sold for around $9.99. It is expected to launch sometime this summer, although exact details are missing presently.

An IMSA-related pack is also in development. Additional content on the way includes the Oreca LMP2, Corvette C8 GT3.R and Road Atlanta. Audi has also signed a similar deal, with at least three of Ingolstadt’s models expected across free and premium DLC.

“The first of several cars from the legendary French manufacturer,” reads the statement, hinting at further Alpines down the line.
