Following the recent confirmation of BMW cars within the Project Motor Racing vehicle list, the Jaguar brand has been added, and the Nissan list has been expanded.

This is thanks to the final Group C category roster shared by the upcoming game’s social media accounts.

Alongside the known Porsche 962C, Mercedes-Benz Sauber C9 and Mazda 787B are two more:

  • Jaguar XJR-9 1990
  • Nissan R89C 1989 (main article image)

The Jaguar won the vaunted 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1998, with its V12 power. Project Motor Racing lists it as ‘1990’, although by that season, most 9s were upgraded to XJR-12s for that year.

A toten for the game, the Lister Storm GT car, uses a modified version of the XJR-9’s engine, mounted up front.

More Project Motor Racing stories

The Nissan, meanwhile, was also rapid in its time, although the Lola-built car was generally seen as unreliable.

Both models are the first from their respective brands. Considering the class structure, it’s hard to think of further Jaguar models alongside the XJR-9 that could be included. Perhaps the Nissan brand has more scope, however.

As it has the outgoing GT-R in GT3 spec, it ran in the late ‘90s GT1 era and has continually competed in Super GT since the 1990s. As one of the DLC packs labelled as ‘Japanese GT500’, there’s a strong chance further models from the Japanese company are on the way.

The current Z in GT4 spec is already locked in for the upcoming title.

Project Motor Racing release 25th November 2025 for PC and console, with several further cars expected to be unveiled ahead of then.
