Gran Turismo 7 set for Qashqai, classic GT-R and Honda kei car in next update

Three more cars are on the way to Gran Turismo 7 in July 2025. Here’s what to expect.

Gran Turismo 7 July 2025 update

It’s that time of the month again, when Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi posts to social media with a Gran Turismo 7 teaser image.

From the shady silhouette, we can deduce three new cars for the driving video game, and while the deep-down specific trim levels are tricky, we think they will be the following three models at least:

A special Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 variant

Gran Turismo 7 Nissan R34

This R34 generation of Skyline GT-R is already in Gran Turismo 7 in V・spec II Nür spec, but one crucial missing spin-off is the Nismo Z-Tune.

It featured a bigger splitter and deeper rear wing, which we think we can spot in the teaser – although let’s not completely rule out a model such as the luxury M-spec model either.

Back to the Z-tune, this was made to celebrate 20 years of the GT-R, and as a limited run model technically made by a ‘tuner’ (Nissan’s own Nismo department), it didn’t have to conform to the Japanese gentlemen’s agreement to stick at 276bhp. So it had a massive 500bhp instead.

Well kept examples push north of a million dollars these days, and it would fit the GT7 roster, which has the R32, R33 and later R35 Nismo generations, but is missing this one.

A Nissan Qashqai

Gran Turismo gives with one hand and takes away with another. Here’s yet more compact SUV-ness.

We think the car on the right looks like a Nissan Qashqai, possibly the latest generation. It follows the Toyota C-HR, Mazda CX-30, Honda CR-V and last month’s Peugeot 2008 in a run of mundane cars.

At least in this instance, the Qashqai is a success story, helping save Nissan (just) and selling over 4 million units. Fair warning, though, this could be another hybrid (non-hybrids are also available), and if that’s the case, tuning may be limited.

Honda N-One kei car

Gran Turismo 7 Honda N-One update july 2025

Following the recent Suzuki Carry kei pick-up comes another diminutive, distinctly Japanese, city vehicle.

This time, we think it’s the Honda N-One, thanks to its uniquely designed front facia that looks like a surprised face.

This model started life in 2012 and is still produced today, 13 years later, all with either a naturally aspirated or turbocharged 658cc engine. There are technically two generations of this car, although the second generation is more of a facelift of the first, rather than an all-new platform.

It’s also a race car. No, really. The N-ONE OWNER’S CUP is a one-make series in Japan, so expect plenty of tunes and liveries available within the game. Best get a league up and running…
