It has been nearly two years since the launch of Logitech’s flagship G Pro sim racing wheel base and pedals. A direct drive device, it features a quick release system to easily remove or affix the steering wheel – except, until now there has only been one official design available.

At last, that changes with the launch of Racing Series (RS) and MOMO accessory ranges.

Shown as part of the company’s Logi Play event, there is now a range of wheels and accessories to match.

Logitech G RS Track and RS Round wheels plus Hub

From Logitech directly, soon there will be two varieties of wheel rims – a fully round version (RS Round) or a cut-off more formula styler derivative (RS Track).

Both are made from ‘low-carbon’ aluminium, with the Round featuring a silicone leather material and the Track a ‘TPE’ material.

Both rims are designed to work with the Logitech G RS Wheel Hub to make a complete steering wheel.

This is your button box, paddles and quick release. There’s an LED light strip acting as a rev indicator, two gearshift paddles, 13 push buttons, two rotatires and a joystick-style nub.

It’s available with the Xbox buttons, or ‘PC’. Of note, for the hub to work on an Xbox, the Xbox-specific version is required. For PlayStation, either will do, provided you have the PS-compatible wheel base.

Re-named wheel base

Speaking of the base, just briefly, the ‘Pro Racing Wheel’ continues, which includes the base and the base steering wheel as standard.

But you can now purchase the purchase separately, where it has a new name – the DD11, referring to its direct drive motor that can output 11Nm of torque.

The base on its own will work on both PC and PlayStation and even on Xbox if you purchase the aforementioned Xbox-specific wheel hub

MOMO partnership

Back to wheel rims, Logitech has partnered with Milanese automotive design company MOMO. Perhaps best known for its real-world steering wheels, it will make two dedicated wheel rims to work on the new Logitech wheel hub.

Expected to hit the market in January 2025, for $199 (USD), there is the 320mm diameter SIM GT 320 and the (yes, you’ve guessed it) 290mm SIM GT-RACER 290.

They both include a 3mm thick black anodized aluminium plate and a ‘hand-wrapped’ microfiber rim grip.

Using a new RS quick release adaptor (below), all of MOMO’s existing wheel range becomes compatible with the Logitech Pro Wheel/DD11/Hub too.

  • MOMO SIM GT-RACER 290 (formula)

Logitech G RS QR Adatper

If the Logitech or MOMO wheels aren’t to your taste, or you already own a device from a different manufacturer, there is now a Logitech G RS QR Adapter.

It will fit most 70mm or 50.8mmm PCD-equipped steering wheels from other brands. Another item made from aluminium, and featuring quick-release functionality, it means peripherals by the likes of Asetek, GSI, Ascher Racing etc. can be easily affixed to the DD11 wheel base for $59.99

Logitech G RS Shifter & Handbrake

Rounding out the RS range, for now, is a new all-in-one sequential gear shifter and handbrake.

Switching between made does not require tools – but rather the flick of a switch and a movement of the lever.

It comes with a steel table clamp designed in a way where stacking two of the same device is possible – should you permanently want to use one for gears and a second for pulling the bar during tight turns.

This will also work with the older Logitech wheels, such as the G293, with the optional Racing Adapter.

The new Logitech Racing Series (RS) products are available today, 17th September 2024. Some regions may differ and the two new MOMO wheels are next year.
