The Crew Motorfest is free to play this weekend

Ubisoft’s open-world epic can be played for free across PC and PlayStation this coming weekend, while Xbox follows a week later.

Starting tomorrow, Friday 4th July, those who do not already own The Crew Motorfest can play Ubisoft Ivory Tower’s latest driving game for free.

Launched a little under a year ago, Motorfest was, in our eyes, a breakthrough for The Crew series – offering enhanced vehicle handling, stunning visuals and an engaging playlist-based structure.

The free weekend comes one day after the release of a fourth season of new content, primarily in the form of a Donk vs Lowrider playlist that includes a new ‘car dance’ game mechanic, cut scenes, 12 main events, 12 side activities, a slew of new challenges but new heavily-customised American vehicles.

Further cars from 2018’s The Crew 2 have also been added, via both the car import system and a presumed licencing deal with mega-car-corp Stelantis that sees the return of Alfa Romeo, Abarth and Lancia brands.

A second year of support was announced during Ubisoft’s Forward presentation last month, which will see cops and a new island added to the game in due course. During the free weekend, there will be digital store discounts on the base game, gold edition and ultimate edition plus the Year 1 Pass DLC.
