US-based simulator specialist SimCraft has announced it has signed Sebastian and Oliver Wheldon to its innovative ‘SimCraft Academy for Driver Development’, with both focusing on iRacing and its diverse lineup of tracks and cars.
Both Wheldons are junior development drivers with Andretti Global, a programme that features a clear pathway up the American motorsport ladder toward IndyCar, where their late father Dan won two Indy 500s and a single drivers’ title.
The partnership – which began in January after high-end sims were installed – already appears to be paying dividends: Oliver currently leads the USF Juniors Championship while Sebastian has won four out of his eight races so far this season, his first in cars.

‘Thrilled’
“We’re thrilled to be joining SimCraft and excited about the opportunities ahead. The advanced technology and support from the SimCraft team will undoubtedly help us reach new levels in our racing careers,” said 15-year-old Sebastian, who is the reigning 2023 Skip Barber Formula Series champion.
SimCraft is a Georgia-based organisation specialising in supplying and installing high-end motion simulators to those looking for the extra edge in motorsport or those serious about their sim racing. High-profile clients include the likes of IMSA champions Jordan Taylor and Scott Pruett, as well as IndyCar and Champ Car champions Ryan Hunter-Reay and Paul Tracy respectively.
