- The Moza R3 bundle includes a 3.9Nm direct drive wheel base, steering wheel and a two-pedal set
- Compatible with PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
- The complete package costs $399/€439/£399
Those with an Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One now have an additional direct drive steering wheel to choose from – the Moza Racing R3.
An entry-level device, in terms of direct drive, the 3.9Nm peak output aligns with similar force offered by rival gear and belt-driving devices. But, crucially, the feedback can feel smoother, and the device useable quieter.
Certainly, that is what we found when we first tested a prototype R3 last year:
“The Moza R3 bundle is clearly a great way to start your direct drive sim racing journey,” said our very own John Munro after testing.
“This is a major step for Moza by entering the console market. It doesn’t kill belt or gear-driven wheels, but it damages them as this can provide something that is better, cleaner and smaller.”
The R3’s body incorporates an ‘X-shaped design’, hinting at its compatibility – although it will work on PC too alongside Microsoft’s consoles.
It comes bundled with an ES Steering Wheel, incorporating Xbox-specific buttons, and a set of the non-load-cell SRP Lite Pedals – throttle and a brake.
Many popular titles are supported at launch on Xbox, including EA SPORTS WRC, Forza Horizon 5, The Crew Motorfest and the current Forza Motorsport. Older F1 games are on the official list, but EA SPORTS F1 24 is an omission and so is Assetto Corsa Competizione.
The re-launch of the R3 bundle is today, 4th June 2024, with immediate shipping available right now as a ‘designed for Xbox’ product.
It is priced at $399/€439/£399 and local taxes may be applicable.
