Following the Porsche 963 LMDh/GTP and classic 1987 NASCAR Pontiac Grand Prix comes Kern Country Raceway to formulate part of iRacing‘s 2023 Season 4 content release – and it’s now been previewed ahead of launch for the first time.
The pint-sized venue just outside of Bakersfield was initially announced as in production back in April of this year by President Tony Gardner, then confirmed as a Season 4 venue as part of Senior Vice President and Executive Producer Greg Hill’s Jukly development update.
The 5,000-capacity speedway actually has two circuits – a 0.5-mile asphalt oval, ideal for Late Model Stock Car racing and a 0.33-mile clay dirt oval residing next door.
The iRacing version will include a smaller sealed-surface inner oval layout for Legends car racing and an inner dirt mini oval too, making four configurations in total:
- Asphalt Track
- Dirt Track
- Legends (asphalt)
- Dirt Mini Oval
All four layouts, including the two separate base tracks, will be included in the one $11.95 bundle. For those not into the oval scene, Dutch Formula 1 circuit Zandvoort is also expected to release next week as part of the Season 4 update.
