One of the many new features in this year’s official MotoGP 21 game is having to keep an eye on your brake temperatures. Now, we have seen how that will work for the first time.
The game, which releases on 22nd April and is on next-gen systems for the first time, looks to be moving ever-towards a simulation-level of realism.
Much like selecting the right tyre compound for the right track conditions, you will now have to make sure you have the right size of brake discs too. So, if you’re on a track with more corners, select smaller discs, while on more flowing circuits you may want to select larger discs for more consistent brake temperature. If your brakes get too hot, braking performance will decrease.

From this brief gameplay clip, it looks like you can select from four sizes of front brake discs, and two for the rear. You then make your decision based on circuit layout and the provided track temperature. The footage only shows the top MotoGP class.
