Back in April, we learned that iRacing would be coming out with their own mobile application this Summer after taking control over the popular iSchedule mobile app. Well, that Summer day came on Wednesday (8th June 2022) to coincide with the release of the 2022 iRacing Season 3 build.
The iRacing companion app is available to download on the Apple App Store or on the Google Play marketplace for free. Of course, to use the application and its features, you’ll need an active iRacing account and the login details for said account.
If you’ve had the iSchedule app in the past, according to my buddy Ryan (who did have that app), this is just the same thing, just now under the iRacing name and with some more refinement. Also worth noting, the iSchedule app is no longer listed on the App Store and if you do have it installed, when opened it says it is under maintenance.
The app is portrayed by the classic iRacing logo as the app icon. Upon entering the app, you’ll see your profile and licenses stats. Keep scrolling, and you’ll find recent official race results and other neat details regarding your iRacing career.
You’ll be able to compare yourself to other iRacers on the service, and if you click on each license individually, you can see your progression in graphical form.
Outside of those details, other things can be found throughout the app. You can see what leagues you race in, what official races are coming up, what hosted races are running, and much more.
News, Content, Forums, and other options await you on the drop down menu. iRacers can set reminders for certain races or events. You can customize your experience as well, choosing which page you prefer to log in to. Members can also turn on push notifications to get all of the latest iRacing news.
You obviously can’t race from it, but you also can’t register for race sessions from it either. That would probably be the one feature I’d like to see, as my friends and I all have lamented that we’ve missed races running into the door and seeing either a slew of updates or the computer just runs slow enough to stall you from making the time.
All in all, it’s a pretty nifty application, but it shouldn’t be anything new to anyone who has previously used iSchedule. What do you think of the new iRacing mobile app? Will you be adding it to your personal smartphone? Let us know in the comments below!
