NASCAR, Playseat agree to multiyear partnership

It was announced on Friday (15th April 2022) that the popular oval racing series known as NASCAR will be partnered up with the popular sim racing seat creators at Playseat. The partnership is a multiyear deal, but the specifics were not detailed. For NASCAR, the aim is to bring a younger generation into the audience for the future of the sport.

“Through this partnership, Playseat is helping us introduce the sport to a new generation of fans, allowing a younger and more diverse audience to see the opportunities that sim racing and NASCAR both offer,” said Ray Smith, Director of Gaming and Esports at NASCAR.

The eNASCAR Arcade, which travels the NASCAR schedule most race weekends, is equipped with a quartet of Playseat simulators already. Back in February, I was able to take a few laps around the virtual Daytona on iRacing. From my experience, the rigs that they travel with are pretty comfortable and definitely give users a great area to sim race in.

NASCAR-branded Playseat Evolution Pro

“We’re excited to team up with NASCAR over the course of multiple years and to unlock the true racing experience,” said Fernando Smit, Founder and President of Playseat.

As part of the partnership, Playseat will offer a NASCAR collection of racing rigs through their website. Right now, sim racers can get a Playseat Evolution Pro with NASCAR branding that retails for $399. As it’s expected to be a collection of rigs, we’ll have to wait and see if there will be any Trophy rigs, Revolution rigs, or any Sensation rigs will also carry the NASCAR or eNASCAR emblem.

On top of that, every car in the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series currently carries a Playseat logo in the contingency area of their car, below the series emblem and around the same place that the Logitech G logo is. What do you think about this announcement? Let us know in the comments!
