This is the Forza Horizon 5 map, and a Toyota GR Supra

Forza Horizon 5 Map

We already know that Forza Horizon 5’s Mexico-set playable map will be around 1.5x bigger than in predecessors, but now we’ve seen the in-game map.

The game will feature 11 unique ‘biomes’, simply distinctly different areas, with the volcano being the highest point. Based upon what we can see in the latest Forza Horizon 5: Let’s ¡Go! episode, we can see that the dunes are near the east coast, with the volcano near the middle. All along the south of the area appears to be the jungle, while the biggest town, Guanajuato, is situated in the north.

Further gameplay was shown from within the upcoming open-world racer, this time on the rocky west coast. The east coast is filled with beaches and holiday resorts, more of which will be shown at a later date. So will the six festival sites and a Baja themed race circuit.

Forza Horizon 5 autumn ford

Like the recent volcano showcase, we see here some season changes in action. These changes look to be more detailed than in FH4. At one point, we are shown an example of a small stream that runs across the road, which is only there during autumn.

The visual effects have also taken a step forward in detail. How much smoke pours off your rubber when drifting depends on the tyre temperature to that point. What level of VFX lesser PCs or the Xbox One version display, however, remains to be seen.

It’s been a while since an all-new car has been shown for the game, but the 2020 Toyota GR Supra has now been revealed. In-person with smoke, no less.

Toyota GR Supra 2020 Forza Horizon 5

It seemingly marks the end of a licencing debate between video game developers and Toyota. Older models have been in previous Forza titles, but new cars such as the Supra were notable only by their absence.

Modifications were also shown off, with this car, in particular, featuring several body kit, wheel and wing options to really make it stand out. But, as with previous Horizon titles, don’t expect such modification levels on all cars, we would estimate that this level of customisation is reserved for the Supra and certain other new additions.

Simply, with Forza Horizon 5 releasing in November, this slow tease of small elements is slowly killing certain members of the Traxion.GG team. The detail in the Mexico world looks like no other racing game.
