It’s been a patch-light season on iRacing so far in 2021 season 3. Members were getting used to patches flying once a week during the last season, with updates to the dynamic track, New Damage Model on certain cars, and tons of NASCAR-concentrated content updates at the height of the eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series.
The latest patch released on Wednesday is more of a formal patch, mostly focusing on fixes rather than new ventures. Atlanta Motor Speedway is listed as receiving an update, but the patch notes only confirms some updated signage in the first and second corner. No new track variant to play with today, unfortunately. Essentially, it’s an update for a now out-of-date track since construction on the new model began earlier this week.
In-game setups were updated on a handful of cars, including the NASCAR Trucks, a couple of Audis and one of the Porsches. The new and old V8 Supercars got an update that fixed a ARB setup bug.
On the operation side of the sim, some updates were made to the Time Attack feature. A few Admin commands were properly adjusted to work correctly. Also, the smoke in the mirrors was apparently too bright, and that’s been adjusted accordingly.
Essentially, a very administrative patch fixes some of the basics, and for once it’s not completely centered around NASCAR. Take a look at the patch notes in full below. For a full update on all iRacing’s fixed content, I’m showing 124 MB on my end, so it should be a quick one.

Lanier National Speedway
- (Dirt) – The Pace Car Driver is making progress on driving at this track. The Pace Car Driver will no longer drive through barriers and the infield, but will instead take an extra lap before leaving the pits – this leaves drivers one less lap to form-up before pitting. If you plan to host an event here, we recommend adding one additional caution lap to your event. The Pace Car Driver will continue training.
Okayama International Circuit
- Fixed an invisible collision volume on pit road that extended into the pit stalls.
- Patched up several surface seams around the track.
Weedsport Speedway
- Fixed an issue with invisible collisions occurring near a wall on the inside of Turn 4 for cars not using the New Damage Model.
- Smoothed a pothole near the pit exit.
- Some objects, including in-field barriers and lights, have had their camera distance settings improved to prevent visual popping as the camera changes distances from the object.
