There were no surprises in the final online round of Rennsport‘s R1 Fall Season, as TC Esports, Porsche Coanda, BS+ Competition, Rennsport Grandmasters, MOUZ and Rennsport Team Alpha Orange all made the SimRacing Expo Grand Final.

But there were still four race wins up for grabs. The top two teams, TC Esports and Porsche Coanda, saw this as an opportunity to gain the points lead in the very last round.

Porsche Coanda were in the slightly weaker Group B, who started the evening from Monza. Charlie Collins secured another pole position, but his teammate Josh Rogers was not able to match it.

Rogers was, however, able to get off to a fantastic start, and he was into second by the Curva Grande of lap one, pushing both Grandmasters down to third and fourth. These positions held in a quiet opener, where Collins took yet another victory this season.

Group A was a little more lively, starting with a fantastic battle between Caique Oliveira and Marcell Csincsik where both cut the Della Roggia chicane at least once each. On one occasion, Oliveira bobbled over the kerb as he was side by side with the Hungarian, allowing Csincsik’s teammate Jack Keithley, who’d been stalking the battle all race to that point, to move past with a little contact into Lesmo 1.

This allowed TCE to get home with a one-two finish, matching Porsche Coanda’s result from race one. The second race of the night took place at Fuji, which also removed a chicane from it’s layout just before the final sector.

Collins again took pole here, but it was Josh Rogers who gained the lead early and ran away to a comfortable race victory. More importantly, it was another 1-2 for the team, putting the pressure back on TCE to match them in the final online race of the season.

Behind, Nico Nunninghoff was expected to be the first chaser of the two Porsches, but he was hit by his teammate Maximilian Dehn into T1, spinning him in front of the field. An incredible battle for third ensued, in which Will Chadwick, driving alone this season for EMM Esports, held back more than half the field for five laps.

Unfortunately, the fun ended abruptly when Chadwick spun getting on the power out of the penultimate corner. In Group A, Oliveira and Csincsik would again share the front row for their second race, resuming their exciting battle from Monza.

The Brazilian won the first battle by leading into T1, with Csincsik following close behind in the first part of the race. However, on lap five he had a spin seemingly out of nowhere, dropping him down the field.

Oliveira went on to win, while TC Esports counted their losses to Porsche Coanda, as Keithley was rooted to third behind Oliveira’s teammate Robbie Stapleford. The gap is provisionally 12 points after the regular season, but with the format of the Grand Final condensing everyone’s gaps much closer, it’ll be around 5-6 points by the start of the competition at SimRacing Expo.
