PlayStation Plus subscribers can download F1 25 for free this month.
From 6th October, Codemasters’ latest F1 title will be part of the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup alongside Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2.
A PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra or Premium subscription is required, which costs £59.99 / €71.99 / $79.99, £99.99 / €125.99 / $134.99 and £119.99 / €151.99 / $159.99 annually, respectively. Subscribers can add F1 25 to their PS5 games library until 2nd November. After that, it will remain playable unless the subscription is cancelled.
Released last May, F1 25 introduced a revamped My Team mode, alongside improved car handling and a third instalment of the Braking Point story mode. These changes were warmly received, with our review hailing the game as a “feature-packed step forward” last year.
In place of an annual sequel, F1 25 received a paid 2026 Season Expansion this year containing the current season’s car, team and driver roster, as well as the new Madring street circuit.
It also replicates the new Overtake Mode and Active Aero introduced in this year’s championship, with players managing the battery deployment. The expansion doesn’t appear to be included in the PlayStation Plus download, however.
Codemasters’ F1 series is set to return next year with a new “reimagined” entry described by EA as a “refreshed experience” that “looks, feels, and plays differently.”
