Formula Legends introduces online multiplayer modes
Crossplay set for October release
3DClouds is celebrating the first birthday of Formula Legends in style by introducing a free new multiplayer update.
Available today (18th September, 2026), Patch 1.7 allows players to battle against each other in Race and Championship modes, as well as public and private lobbies, with support for up to 10 players.
There are a couple of caveats: player-to-player collisions and steering wheel support are both disabled in online multiplayer. However, the developer has stated that ‘This is just the beginning’, implying these issues may be resolved in future.
Crossplay between Xbox, PlayStation and Steam users has also been confirmed, and will arrive in a separate update sometime this October.
Although we were impressed with Formula Legends’ cutesy aesthetic, its car variety and authentic gameplay, we were less inspired by its fundamentally clunky controls and handling.
Post-release patches have apparently helped to alleviate some of its worst instances, with the game also receiving a spate of DLC packs, including officially licensed Formula E content.
