  • AC EVO V0.9 will not be the final Early Access build
  • Official statement: Kunos ‘getting very close to bringing Free Roam to Assetto Corsa EVO’

For many, Assetto Corsa EVO’s V0.9 update felt like a letdown in terms of new content. Only three new cars joined the sim, with additional Special Events and the introduction of mandatory pit stops hardly setting the community’s hair on fire.

Given the cadence of updates, it also indicated that this would be the final update before the game hit V1.0, which felt optimistic given the game’s comparative lack of content and killer features, the biggest of which, free-roam, has yet to be deployed.

However, developer Kunos Simulazioni has quickly moved to dispel any concerns by stating today (26th August 2026) that V0.9 does not represent AC EVO’s final Early Access build.

‘We want to be upfront: Update 0.9 will not mark the final release of the Early Access Program,’ an official statement read, allaying fears.

‘It hasn’t always been easy, with some challenges along the way, but your patience, feedback, and passion have helped us reach a much stronger place — one where we’re now getting very close to bringing Free Roam to Assetto Corsa EVO.

‘We’re looking forward to seeing your reactions, hearing your thoughts, and continuing this journey together,’ the statement concluded.

Unfortunately, no time scales were given as to when we will see free roam implemented in-game, but judging from Kunos’s statement, the wait shouldn’t be too long.
