SCS Software has offered a sneak peek at American Truck Simulator’s upcoming Road Trip mode, showcasing its vehicle configuration and car-buying UI.

First previewed in April 2025, Road Trip mode allows players to drive cars and pickup trucks in-game by way of a series of officially licensed DLC packs. The first two to be revealed were the ‘RAM & Dodge Car Pack’ and the ‘Ford Car Pack DLC’.

The latter DLC appears to be the most release-ready, with the Czech studio previewing both the Ford Mustang Fastback and Ford F-150 with gameplay footage. Ford is also the subject of the latest batch of preview screenshots, detailing how to buy and manage your fleet of vehicles.

To begin with cars in ATS, players first have to navigate to the ‘Car Dealer’ tab on the main in-game desktop screen. From there, you select your favoured car brand and model, with its specifications and other details listed.

You can then buy and personalise your car with a different paint job, extra interior or exterior parts and the usual array of cabin accessories. After that, you can hit the ‘drive’ button and begin exploring the USA.

As revealed last week, Road Trip will feature a new ‘Atlas’ mode, split across four categories: Tourist boards, Points of interest, Viewpoints, and Photo trophies. Atlas rewards map exploration, with more jobs and rewards set to be added in future.
