Six victories in a row is an astounding achievement, especially when you consider just how open the 2021 eSports WRC Championship presented by Toyota Gazoo Racing is. But, that’s exactly what Sami-Joe managed to pull off earlier today with yet another astonishing set of stage times.
The latest challenge was held across two asphalt stages in Germany. The first, a short blast around the 6.88km Freisen special stage, followed by the much sterner Mittelmosel Reverse, at 15.63 km. This second stage starts out with lots of straights into 90-degree junctions, but has tricky tree-lined country roads in the middle section, before entering the narrow vineyard access lanes later on.
The podium was rounded out by Race Clutch members Jonno and Noel, with two-time champion Nexl in fifth – a great result, but his worst so far in 2021. Sami-Joe extends his lead in the Drivers’ Championship, but with seven rounds still to go, the competition is still wide open.
The next round will be held on rough gravel stages of Turkey 29th April-3rd May and is open to anyone with WRC 9 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
