Automobilista 2 is set for more historic vehicle content throughout 2026, with an assorted mix of cars previewed.
While they have not been named, and technical information and release dates are missing at this stage, the flood of new work-in-progress images teases the upcoming additions.
The Traxion team has sifted through the images, and here’s what we expected – with developer Reiza Studios clearly stating that everything is subject to change as development progresses.
Below, we have listed what we can spot, but Reiza has also discussed in which order they will be released:
- “Filling various gaps in our 2000s/2010s formula roster”
- Historical Endurance Pack Part 2
- Historical Endurance Pack Part 3 + circuits
- “Some 1990s British Touring Cars, 2005 German Touring Cars”
- Finally back to modern times
‘00s and ‘10s Formula Cars

Automobilista 2 has a strong lineup of fictional Formula 1-style cars, which the community can modify with era-matching liveries.
More of these are to be added, in the words of Reiza, “filling various gaps in our 2000s/2010s formula roster.”
The images released so far point to something that reminds us, subjectively, of a ~2006 BAR Honda, and another a ~2008 Force India. There’s already a ‘Formula V8 Gen3’ class, which covers the period after, so this could be an early Formula V8 Gen2.

We’ll find out sooner, rather than later, as this is set to be the first DLC pack of this year.
Historical Endurance Pack Part 2
Following the 2005-themed content release late last year, there will be two more historical endurance DLC packs.
The contents of Part 3 are clear (see below), but there’s little understanding of Part 2 presently.
However, there has been one image of a car that could fit in:
Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage

This low-lung open race car was used by privateer drivers between 1959 and 1961, competing in endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans
Historical Endurance Pack Part 3
Part three of this set is much clearer, with the following to be included, plus “several circuits from that era”:
Can-Am, including McLaren

This orange papaya machine from the 1960s was part of the unhinged Can-Am race series. Expect brutish performance.
We believe this looks like the fearsome M8B model with Bruce McLaren’s number 4.
Porsche and BMW Group 5

Another bewinged race category, these two Group 5 machines are from the Special Production Cars ruleset, running from 1976 to 1982. They appear to be a Porsche 935 and a BMW 2002 so far.
Porsche 917

One of the most, if not the most, legendary Porsche sports car, the 917 is also technically a ‘Group 5’ racer, although it was a different derivation of the ruleset to the aforementioned 935.
Audi and BMW Super Tourers

These 1990s Super Touring, or Class 2, racers are seen as the peak of touring cars – namely due to manufacturer support with large budgets. Such profligate times were brief, but the cars remain revered.
Here, we see the BMW 3-Series (E36), with the aerokit and organe indicators, making it 1994-1995 specification. There’s also the Audi A4 in all-wheel-drive configuration.
2005 Audi A4 DTM

Spaceframe chassis, extravagant aero kits and a mid-mounted V8 engine, this officially licensed Audi touring car comes from an era when the likes of Mattias Ekström, Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish and Rinaldo Capello drove for the marque.
Other vehicles are set to be included, and following these DLC packs, too, with more contemporary machinery, according to the development team.
Quality of life improvements
Alongside the car and track content, the base Automobilista 2 platform is also set to evolve.
There’s a long list of desired changes that are being aimed for, but more details will be shared once they are closer to completion. You can read the full update on Steam or the Reiza forums.
For now, the highlights include mid-race saving, modding individual car performance, virtual safety cars, ballast, class points, animated marshals, tow and repair delays, the completion of a new HUD and joining ranked races from third-party services from within the game.
There’s also a note on the impending single-player career mode that these platform improvements must be completed before the team can publish it. It’s expected to be rolled out in a phased way, with the first element by the end of 2026.
