Assetto Corsa EVO is set to build on recent momentum, following an impressive free roam trailer comes confirmation of its next car.
Signalling the start of what is set to be a drip feed of 0.5 update information, the Toyota Corolla AE86 has been confirmed for the next update via a series of images.

The 1980s compact car was available in two body styles, hatchback and coupe, always with an inline four cylinder 1.6-litre engine up front and power sent to the rear.
There were also two ‘faces’ available. Corolla Levin models had fixed headlights, but the fancy Sprinter Trueno featured pop-ups.
The specification in EVO, so far, is the latter as a coupe in APEX trim. The white and black colour selection is also a reference to Takumi Fujiwara’s Initial D tofu delivery car.

This generation of Japanese economy car is well-loved for its sideways handling and affordable price. Drift and tuning scenes in particular often use AE86s, and to that end, Assetto Corsa has confirmed it will be “available in several versions”.
The Toyota Supra, added in December 2025’s 0.4 update, came with a heavily modified drift version, for example.
The rest of the car lineup or release window for the next update is not yet known, but we’ll keep you updated as it nears release. We also have an ever-evolving car list.
