Sony has revealed January’s lineup of new PlayStation Plus titles, with three driving titles set to be added from 20th January.
For those with a PS+ Premium subscription, the headline game is undoubtedly Ridge Racer, the original PlayStation classic by Namco.
Originally confined to arcades, the PS1’s innovative design and graphical horsepower allowed Ridge Racer to be ported to home consoles for the first time. Upon its 1994 release, the game’s silky-smooth astounded players almost as much as its spectacularly drifty gameplay, a key component of the series’ subsequent success and longevity.
Two more titles are also available in January’s PS Plus Game Catalogue, with Saber Interactive’s Expeditions: A MudRunner Game and stylised off-roader art of rally providing very different driving experiences.
The former is perhaps the least lauded of the MudRunner titles, but it still shares the same core of patient exploration using a range of 4x4s and trucks. art of rally, on the other hand, is a beautiful celebration of rally history, featuring fun and authentic handling and a cute aesthetic.
