We’re nearing the end of 2022 iRacing Season 2 as the calendar moves into the tenth week of 12 on the season. This week, Dave Cam is taking on Spa-Francorchamps in the Touring Car Turn Racing Challenge official series. Spa is a long, challenging course, but Dave knows just how to tackle it.
Dave will be utilizing the Hyundai Elantra N Touring Car, one of the choices in the Touring Car Turn Racing Challenge official series. That series hosts the Elantra N, Audi RS 3 LMS, Honda Civic Type R and the Hyundai Veloster N TC.
The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is located in Stavelot, Belgium and features 20 varying corners around the 7.004-kilometer (4.352-mile) venue. With these Touring Cars, this track becomes fairly difficult. As Dave says, it is right on the limit of wheel spin and understeer as you traverse the course in third gear.
The slow and methodical approach is still applicable, even at such a long venue. Dave has all of the tips you’ll need to get the right braking markers, reference points, and different racing lines around the track. Spa, in general, is fairly picky on how far you can go to not get an off-track incident.
