One week before the real 24 Hours of Daytona kicks off, iRacing will be hosting its virtual equivalent, the iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona Special Event.

This weekend, thousands of iRacers from around the globe will be teaming up to race at the Floridian venue, with several time slots available for the multi-class event. The top split will be broadcast live, with Max Verstappen’s Team Redline outfit aiming to win the race overall for the very first time.

What is the iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona Special Event?

The iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona is a multi-class race which is traditionally one of the most popular Special Events of the year.

The race takes place around Daytona’s Road Course in a simulated 24-hour race, featuring a dynamic day-to-night cycle and driver swaps, with each team consisting of between two and 16 members.

When is the iRacing 6 Hours of the Glen Special Event?

The iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona Special Event takes place over this weekend, 16th-18th January 2026 (time zone dependent), with four time slots available as shown below

  • Timeslot #1 – Friday 22:00 GMT
  • Timeslot #2 – Saturday 07:00 GMT
  • Timeslot #3 – Saturday 12:00 GMT
  • Timeslot #4 – Saturday 16:00 GMT

iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona Special Event car classes

The iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona Special Event will feature GTP, HYP, LMP2 and GTD categories. The top class includes all of the sim’s LMDh Hypercars, plus the Ferrari 499P LMH machine, with the LMP2 class limited to the Dallara P217.

The GTD class consists of current cars used in the IMSA SportsCar Championship, with a custom Balance of Performance calculation released ahead of the event. This can be viewed below:

To race in the iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona Glen Special Event, all drivers must have a valid iRacing subscription, at least a D Road License at 4.0 or above, own the Daytona International Speedway track and at least one of the undernoted eligible cars.

  • Valid iRacing subscription
  • Track: Daytona International Speedway – Road Course $14.95
  • D Road License 4.0
  • One of the eligible GTP/HYP/LMP2/GT3 cars – $11.95 each
  • Sim Date (Time of Day Setting): January 24, 2026
  • Sim Start Time (Time of Day Setting): 1:00 PM

How to enter the iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona Special Event

The iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona Special Event will appear in the iRacing UI under the ‘Official’ section and can be joined by clicking on the ‘Register’ button once a suitable race time has been selected.
