Next up for the GT3-car based esports championship, GT Challenge Series, is Lime Rock Park for Round 3. If this week’s GT Pro Series race at the same venue is anything to go by, expect a tense battle around this narrow venue.
With a packed grid, who have qualified using the rFactor 2 Competition System, all are fighting for the prize of a GT Pro Series grid slot for Season 5.
Last time out at a wet Sebring, previous GT Pro Series champion Erhan Jajovski won the Sprint Race and finished second in the Feature Race, behind Christian Michel, stamping his authority on the standings.
At each round, there will be a qualifying session, a Sprint Race and a Feature Race. Qualifying will be a 15-minute dash for the pole, followed by the shorter 15-minute race, with the grid set from the timed session.
The second, longer, race of each round will last 45 minutes, with the grid also set based upon qualifying results, but with the top 10 reversed.
Drivers qualify for GT Challenge using the in-game Competition System – allowing those with the platform the opportunity to enter, with the top split broadcast live.
