Home of the almighty Springboks, incredible beaches and breathtaking wildlife, South Africa also hosts an equally breathtaking race circuit with some of the best corner names in existence. The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit is situated in Midrand, just 27 miles from the centre of Johannesburg.
I have to be honest, before making this video I had not driven around Kyalami in a video game since SBK X: Superbike World Championship was released in 2010. And was I missing out? Absolutely. The sheer gravitas of this place sends shivers down the spine. Its high-speed commitment corners and constant undulation make for a real test, even for the best drivers.
It can be a tricky one to master, but hopefully, that is where I can help. My aim is to teach you some of the best lines and techniques you can use to help your lap times tumble faster than your stomach will grumble. Seriously, one of the corners is actually called “Barbeque”.
Speaking of lap times, here are some targets to get the ball rolling:
- Pro – 1:39.40
- Pro-Am – 1:41.50
- Am – 1:43.50
- My time – 1:39.80
Make sure you let us know which tracks you would love to see added to the game on social media! Now, I’m off for a burger…
